37% say best class ever - a school with 71 players

This summer we ran a Floorball program at the Tomah, WI regular summer school for kids grade 2-6th.

We did basic drills, minor theory, some history, looked at video of both the world championships, and some free style tricks, we played several different games including obstacle courses, tennis-floorball, baseball-floorball and played many different "regular" floorball games with different configurations.
We also had a Zorro artist in to show some real live tricks... and we did so much more..

We had 71 players signed up in 2 three weeks session - and during 6 weeks the Tomah Middleschool saw plenty of Floorball everyday.

The response from the players was fully overwhelming - so we also performed a quick student survey to figure out what the player/students thought.
- 37% of the students say this is their best summer class ever (33% in session 1 and 40% in session 2 - it is 1 out of 3 in our first session, or 4 out of 10 in the second session)
- Out of all respondents to this survey only 4 students reports negative sentiments, below neutral - no single respondent claimed the most negative option in this survey
- One young girl reported that she would have preferred a class with girls only

Conclusions -
- Floorball belongs first and foremost in school (this is already known in places like Scandinavia and Singapore)
- With Floorball in school, it is easy to quick and fast reach a larger target group of potential young students
- We had only minor bruises in terms of injuries

And Your move is?

We where asked to not take pictures or moving images during this historic local activity - so you have to just imagine all the full fun fast action we have had - in your own mind - and that should not be too hard - huh?

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.
