A while back Peter Forsberg arrived at Ärentuna under utmost secrecy. He was there with Svenska Spel to surprise Storvreta IBK team with boys born-02, participate in their practice and find out what the Svenska Spel’s Grassroots project money was used for.
Storvreta coach Mats Edin gathered his players to draw up guidelines for the practice and the players had to guess who their surprise guest would be. Many guessed one of Storvreta’s own Swedish Superleague stars would appear but instead they were joined by superstar Peter Forsberg.
Their reaction was immediate and the cheers loud. An extraordinary practice awaited. Speed shooting and shootouts as challenge warmup prior to gameplay.
Once the teams where divided Peter Forsberg was on the black team and put in quite the effort chasing down or passing around the 13 year-olds. At times the game would be stopped and the players would get to challenges would commence, speed shooting and penalty shots.
The visit was part of the Svenska Spel's Grassroots initiative.
It was Forsberg himself who chose to come to Storvreta IBK as he was impressed by the clubs past successes and wanted to get a little insight into how Storvreta IBK work with young players.
The last challenge was three Storvreta players against a lone Peter Forsberg, something he handled well, four, however, was too much and he was defeated.
Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball). To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.
