OK reg USA and Canada today...

USA,
Did what was expected from them today. 9-1 over Japan. At times it looked very good and at other times it looked like they should have be able to do better.
Remember USA is not one of the World's 4-6 best teams but a little notch below - and most higher league Club teams - in the better European countries - would not have too much of struggle to run over either the US or the Canadian National teams.
But this is something that will change - the day Floorball grows big in North America too. So we give the US a fully splendid grade today with A plus in the margin.

Tomorrow however Team USA meets Slovakia. Normally we would have said that Slovakia wins 3 times out of 4... But with what we have seen so far. With the things we hear from the team... Looking at the results - Slovakia's too... We have made up our mind that we will change our prediction for the game tomorrow, and take a little risk. We think team USA's Swedish coach can do wonders again - and we will bet on a victory for Team USA against Slovakia. But they must be fully clear about one thing.. This is not Korea - not Japan - Slovakia comes from a stick-handling culture. Good luck Team USA - Floorballcentral believes in you, and this will be the most important game in your tournament (so far).
Ooops only hours left...

Canada,
What a game! Russia came out very very strong - with fast plays, sturdy players, and scoring abilities. The game turned very open and at times the Canadian team almost looked a bit thin. But a Canadian never give in and some of the goals we saw - from both Russia - and Canada was like taken from Mr Tarasov's basic hockey instruction book. The initiative shifted back and forth... We saw some incredible individual performances to - even if we also saw shots taken from rather bad opportunities - from both teams. We think a big contributing factor to today's win was the feeling of slightly sturdier Russians and thinner Canadian's. We think the stamina was one factor that brought this big victory to Canada. The Canadians just had a little better stamina and did not get as tired as the Russians... But puh it was a close call and a very exciting game.

The most memorable thing however - was when a Russian player got hurt in his foot - and the Canadian medical team - acted like "Doctors without borders" and took good care of their fellow the Russian.
This is true and noble sportsmanship Floorballcentral loves Team Canada for this!

Thank You all - in 4 good teams!

Caution

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.
