This is not utopia - you will indeed be paid to play recreational floorball ;-)

This is what the TECH-folks has in pipeline... Machines will within decades take over about maybe 50% of all the jobs we have.
Millions of truck drivers will for instance be without work - as trucks can drive by themselves, both cheaper and safer (that is in reality the same thing) as compared to any human driver - and this scenario is not too far down the road...
But truck drivers is only one example. Machines, computers, robots,, and artificial intelligence will make many moves forward... in several areas. Humans will become more and more redundant - as long as they do not work with change and creative jobs... But machines may invade these areas too...

So hordes of people will end up with no job and live on some sort of maintenance or welfare system, they will do nothing and - be supported to become depressed and just do nothing?
Yep, if we keep the current crazy system.

Usa has some of the highest costs for the medical system in the world. Let us pretend that this system cost 2.8 trillion dollars (old number) so we get a number to play with. Now imagine that the society set aside 15% of these cost to preventive health care (prophylactic care) instead.
Woah - in reality that would mean many billions of dollars. If this money were used to keep the unemployed population healthy through physical activities - a very interesting new form of health aid program would emerge.
Mr Unemployed - would be forced to do healthy physical activities like five times per week (think Floorball). He must do this to get the personal financial unemployment support. Maybe the society should pay like 8 dollars per hour and Mr. Unemployed would become a micro professional athlete and earn his or her living on Floorball.

This is interesting since here the financial support to unemployed people would demand real work and actions by the person in need - to keep them healthy and this way invest in health to lower the big medical bill. This at the same time as the society would get viable tools in place to fight both obesity and heart disease.. etcetera.
Obamacare - well sorry we do not know much about it - but we dare to swear - this idea is way more creative and would probably be much more beneficial for both the individual as well as the society.
This is more an Eisenhower plan how to build a healthy society.

But no you can not do this... Because why? The problem is that the society has not set up the financial incentives to support a healthy population in the right or best way. The problem is that the society has set up financial systems that benefits elite sports. But it is recreational sports that would make the big societal difference so grassroots must become professional too - and this would be one way to do this. This model also demand a counter action from people to be eligible for support from the society - so it is based upon the capitalistic principal - "if you do this we will pay you".

The only thing missing is financial supporting structures supporting the healthy masses at the grassroot level - and hey the medical companies already gets well beyond what they need!
Did you know that 25% of the senior US population declare bankruptcy due to medical expenses..
Hey let us change this with floorball too! ;-D

Caution

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.

Also if you get addicted to this sport - do not blame us!
