The Mighty Eagle and the new dimension in Floorball

The Mighty Eagle is the nick name of one of the guys in the very top positions at Rovio, and Rovio is the Finnish company that hatched the game, Angry Birds among others.
Angry Birds to us, must be one of the worlds strongest Brand names as it comes to appeal to younger kids. And not only that Angry Birds also in much relate to toys, computers, tablets, or cell phone gaming .. ie all activities that means the youth generation mainly sits still..
That is why this is so utterly interesting, we think. Since here someone takes on a new responsibility.

To us, this is a new dimension since most sticks on the market so far has been targeting some other dimensions of sports. We have for instance Salming that target Ice Hockey with its strong Hockey brand name. Unihoc we think target more tech advanced Floorball in it's self. X3m is aimed at at art, style and parkour or rough street culture with skateboard influences - but in essence most other sticks are designed to cater to technological advances in the design. Yes, we do have some brands that also have done specific sticks aiming at the cartoon or playful side of Floorball.. We find both Unihoc and Oxdog in this domain.
But with Angry Birds we see for the first time something that relates to the gaming industry and toys - by using one of the worlds utterly and very strongest brand names.

The Mighty Eagle is a big Floorball fan and he plays actively Floorball in real life too. So it was no wonder that he contacted Fatpipe and they decided to develop an Angry Bird Floorball stick together,.. Oh, let us just do one interesting observation here.. Normally as it comes to licensing of the Angry Bird logo and its components pr products, other companies stand in line to pay licensing fees and have their product branded as Angry Bird products.. Here Mighty Bird took the Initiative and brought Angry Birds to the Floorball scene. Not bad huh?
If the Mighty Eagle read our open letter to Rovio we posted like 2 years ago we do not know... but he should. ;-) since he acted like it... http://www.floorballcentral.org/2011/08/angry-birds.html

Anyways, what is more, well Angry Birds (or Rovio) also have some Educational programs going and it has been said that they plan to bring Floorball, with the Angry Birds branded sticks into that educational concept.
Did you say wow now? - whatever... that is what we just did here.

Yes let us make this clear, Angry Birds branded sticks, this is not just one stick... Fatpipe is to release a full line of sticks, and equipment. We have already shown some sweatbands and a bag. We will post a bunch of more pictures here and next up is a couple of head bands before we hit the sticks parade. So hold out, more is on its way and we think this will be the best ever promotional stuff for Floorball.

What more do you need to know more? Let us say, as we have said before, the only way to match this would perhaps be a Minecraft line of sticks, or as Mr. Mikkola said at one time, a Disney line of sticks...
We think that it in reality will become utterly hard to top this new line from Fatpipe. We think Angry birds if possible might just be stronger than a Disney line - to be honest with you. This is one of the best things we have seen for Floorball and it will most likely bring so many new kids into the sport. And yes indeed, we want to have a stick like this too.

Finally, if you want to follow the Mighty Eagle on Twitter? Follow him here, as he just brought a new dimension to Floorball together with Fatpipe - not bad huh? So go follow @pvesterbacka...

Caution

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.

Also if you get addicted to this sport - do not blame us!
