How can the name be affected by League mergers?

Recently we saw in Finnish media an article and a discussion on the idea to merge the Finnish top league SBL with the Swedish top league SSL - in some way..
We also picked up that one influential person in Sweden supported the idea on twitter. That is good - that is what we want to see and read from true modern leaders. Opinions that drive things forward.

All good.

Let's play with the idea, that this will happen, down the road and in some way the two leagues, or more, will merge... In whatever form?

OK, to us here than we see a few things possibly happening.
First from an athletic/sporting point of view, the largest, the best and probably most popular league would become imminent. Then someone may speculate what central Europe will do...
And if you reason a bit on this you can imagine yourself how attractive this might become from the view of sponsors and TV contracts too (as long as TV might be a strong channel). Hints in this direction has been mentioned too if we did not read things wrong.

But!
Could such a league be called the Innebandy-Salibandy League or Innesali League. Nope hardly, its too long and too complicated - or just way too silly. Just only if so used for some sort of a mutual play-off system...

Hmm...

The only reasonable name would most likely be: "something flashy" Floorball.

So in this way a north European league development suddenly turns very interesting from the global marketing point of view as we think about the sports future.
Just imagine, how media, clubs, players and other interested people... would start to use the name Floorball on social media?
How many English speaking people would then be exposed to the word Floorball?
Wow, so instead of just changing the name - a move like this would have the opportunity to make incredible impact and social net-workers would not have to be forced or guided towards the use of the #floorball hashtag. It would all happen by itself and it would just come as a natural thing.

So yes, Floorballcentral fully support any ideas to merge Floorball leagues and activity, over "name-borders" since it would create a homogeneous opportunity to "rock the Tweet" or rock Facebook and across all social media , and other media too - with a PR drive that would sell the Floorball name - in incomparable ways as of today.

This is how it looks like today on google trends:

And u know what - we think here that PR and Marketing is even more important than just playing the sport at this time in history. - For the sake of our mutual future.

If your kids do not have the ability to play Floorball today - do something about it. At least share this post on social media.

Caution

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.
