More thoughts on Wrestling and the Olympics

The IOC makes the move to remove wrestling from the Olympics. That means that one of their 25 core sports is out in the cold.
Some say that the reason is that wrestling has too many rules and has become too complicated - we here think that the age of wrestling also plays a role.... why should sports be the only thing that does not develop when the rest of most societies transform at rocket-speed. Sports may not live in another century we think..
We think also that the pure idea to "beat" some one down to the Floor - might not be seen as the most progressive, sensitive or constructive sport around...sic.

So will wrestling's empty spot on the Olympics now be invaded by Floorball - we do not think so. But it would be the right thing to do if we need good modern role models for the youth - with a comparable safe alternative, that is cost efficient, inclusive and just a brand new thing.
We wish this will happen, but chances are most likely very slim...
But.. sometimes miracles appear like lightning from a clear blue sky - right.

The other question how will this, the IOC kickin' out wrestling, affect wrestling in many American schools (wrestling is huge in American schools). Well first the kind of wrestling done here - is not Olympic wrestling it is a bit different - so we think in general American wrestling will remain the same..

BUTT, and here come that big butt again.
The day Floorball hits the Olympics - either by the miraculous 2020, the more optimistic 2024 or the.. way too late 2028.
We think it has the serious power to take one main sport causality in North American schools.

We know two things:
A) As kids in North America was introduced to Cosom Hockey during the 60's - even the first version of Floorball inspired games-  is said to attract more student players as compared to Basketball, and that is a very strong indication of what is coming down the road.
B) Test markets or development markets for Floorball like in Sweden/Finland etc has changed their sports climate 720 degrees..or more.

Our conclusion about one larger causality in American schools if Floorball rocks to the skies here too - well we think it will hit - One of the MAIN but WEAKEST school sports in America and... that could possibly be.. wrestling... Let's wait and see - we could be so utterly wrong - beside of that we however guarantee larger changes over time.

Hey to the IOC, Go You Guys and Gals GO GO GO! Spell out our future pls.

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.
