A Mid-Week Mix

First here is the official Special Olympics video from Korea and the World Games Special Olympics. If we not have already mentioned it the aim is now to go from 8 teams in 2013 to maybe 30 teams in 2017 - if that becomes an reality - then Floorball most likely will be a Special Olympic sport in a more sustainable perspective. Ha, we think it soon will dominate SO and that this is only the beginning....

From other Hockey related news - One of Hockey's great legendary names will play Floorball this weekend - if we not are misinformed.
On this note, do not think that Mr. Gretzy himself at one time did advertising for plastic sticks from Cosom - we think this was in 1984 - and yes there is pictures of this in books but not online yet. But it is another Hockey legend that is up for Floorball this week in Canada.
It is also true that we for each day get closer to the Let's Play Hockey expo in Twin Cities - and yes Floorball will be there too, thanks to Floorballplanet.

Today the mag - a good source for trends and brave ideas - makes the remarkable thing to write a seriously good story on LTAD - without mentioning LTAD a single time - masterpiece or flunk? You'd be the judge - our own call is that Pick-up Floorball is the best thing You can do. Story here:
Read it it is good stuff - even if they not yet have heard about Floorball at wired ;-D
They will.

Other Floorball news more locally in the USA, talks about a new league in Austin comin' up and one of the more classical US Tourneys in California, The Madness is to be played later this month and you sign up here:
We also have seen some recent updates at the US National Floorball Federations website...Then it sounds like the 2013 Midwestern Floorball Championship here in town now will have some better local poster - it is in the works at least.

From Europe we hear that the Swedish Innebandymagazinet tomorrow will announce the world's best players (but so far they have only communicated in Swedish about this so we rather sort this in under the tab for sandbox news). But we will keep you posted.
We saw another story on some probable record transfer money within SSL too - but we lost that story since it is not recoverable... well, maybe it was not an urgent thing.

Ops, we probably missed some other news too - but it is like in Floorball -you win some and loose some other games///

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.
