So Right from Switzerland

As we play mind games and try to understand Floorball from the larger or more holistic picture and how organizations work... or rather function.
Often, we end up on the continuum from: The Maintenance - to - The Expansion of the Sport.

In reality these two dimensions does not have to contradict each other - but in real life they do steal time from each other, sometimes with the very same people, and yes.... we tend to think that most Federations is way, and by far, much better at the Maintenance part of things... as compared to the Expansion.. If you do not agree we respect your point of view too.
But what is the most important scope? We think both as they must work hand-in-hand with each other for the best of us all.

We think that both dimensions must be addressed with a clear focus. But not doing the Expansion part by stealing time from the Maintenance (could also be called the administration). The Maintenance is seriously good - but we do wish for more Expansion...
We will have a set of posts in this direction and maybe even discuss how the expansion works or other dimensions related... let's see. For instance we wonder - if there are set goals defined for the expansion at all levels, or how goals like these could be spelled out.. and how these goals are met, assessed, and who to honor or maybe not - if these goals are dealt with in good ways..or not. Cause, we think people in Floorball can make a serious difference here - not only leaders.
Anyway enough ramblings for now..

Today's news from Switzerland comes very handy in this respect as they have announced a possible new Head Marketing guy for Floorball in the main part of the Alps - on a brand spanking new position..
And how many other Federations, in particular the smaller ones, do have one Head Marketing guy or gal? We just wonder?
Let us further hope that the new guy in Switzerland will not only work to sell the sport in terms of sponsor contracts - but also seriously aim to build the sport itself and maybe even increase the use of social PR and marketing...- this will also aim to develop the product to sponsor. Maybe - what we try to describe is more about Product Development as compared to Marketing?
Today some people say that PR as we know it are about to die as new forms of PR emerge right in front of our eyes - like now. If this will be true or not - only time may tell.

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
