Speculations on new carbon fiber sticks - UPDATE

Woops, we just noted that the blog had no text post - only links - let's fix that...

Last week or - just a couple of days ago -, Oxdog released that they will present the market with one-piece full carbon fiber stick. Oxdog claims in their advertising that “others will follow”. But that is about all what they have released so far. I think.

Only a few days later... Unihoc presents a full carbon one piece stick too as a teaser for next year.
N.B. these are development projects and these products does not exist on the market yet.
The interesting thing with Unihoc’s teaser is that it looks like they already have prototypes made that they play with.
Is this interesting news? Well Unihoc claim that within 2 days they had 10.000 views on their video clip showing this new kind of stick.
Here is their clip http://youtu.be/mKixD0zmZK0

So who is first? I am not sure if that is important and it would not surprise me if these sticks are being made at a very similar production unit somewhere in Asia, I guess.
Is a one piece Floorball stick a good thing? Most likely otherwise they would not try this avenue I say. Is it expensive? Let us see, I guess that the competition might bolster the price somewhat?
What is bad? I do not think too much is bad. The only thing is probably that it is hard to put a stick blade like this into a toaster to shape the blade as well as when the blade breaks - if it does.... Well you will have to get a new stick.

If you know something more please share that with us.

In the overall perspective I think this is good development. But I also think that sticks and shoes connected to a smart phone and software online - would be a larger kind of development in the case someone got this to work correctly in a market smart solution.

I am myself confident that this concept is boiling somewhere too. And if this is not first done within Floorball - another "hockey sport" might have the same ideas. But there is few other hockey related sports that have the kind of fast technological stick development as we see in Floorball - I think.

UPDATE,
Yes, Salming is also on track to present a one-piece Florball stick. There will be more about this during this week. It looks like their prototype is a bit more ready for the market. But we do not know. Hold on and let's see what comes out from Sweden on this (klubbhuset).

Caution

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.

Also if you get addicted to this sport - do not blame us!
