North American Floorball Championships

USACup_Logo_yel_small.jpgLet's Play Floorball USA and FloorballPlanet are excited to announce the inaugural USA Cup Floorball Tournament the weekend of November 12th-13th, 2011.   This is the second event in the 2011/12 North American Floorball Championship (NAFC) series.   This tournament will be held at the Duncanville Fieldhouse in Duncanville, Texas (just south of Dallas).  The first tournament of the NAFC series was held at Brock University in Niagara Falls last month.  The final event will be the Canada Cup in Toronto in May, 2012.  To qualify for the North American Floorball Championship title, teams must compete in at least one tournament in Canada and one in the United States.  Don't miss this opportunity to play with and against floorball players from across North America!
Registration for the USA Cup is now open.  You can register as a team or individually in one of two divisions - Adult and 19U.  Early registration for the Adult division is only $400 per team or $45 per individual.  For the U19 division, registration is $300 per team or $35 per individual.  In order to encourage widespread participation, we are keeping registration fees as low as possible.  Sign your team up today!  If you don't have enough players to field an entire team, not a problem.  We are anticipating many individual registrations and should be able to place players on competitive teams.  Depending on the number of registrations, we may further divide each division into Elite and Recreational groups.

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.
