The Vancouver chat

http://www.canuckscentral.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php?t13316.html

If you follow this link you will find a discussion board in Vancouver at the Canucks. As some Europeans try to explain Floorball to North Americans and its relation to hockey - it looks to me like it all goes as wrong as it can.
First I do think they agree on some of the awesome skills shown by the hockey player in the clips refereed to.
But as they mention Floorball it sounds like the Americans read Football and then the Americans think the crazy Europeans practice Hockey by Soccer and of course the Europeans takes a few laughs about the American kind of Foootball too.
So it all ends up in a big mess and the message about Floorball is truly lost. Hmm.

I think that Switzerland would not be close to where they are as a Hockey nation without Floorball and I do think that todays upset, in the U20 Hockey world championships, of Russia only confirms this.

Caution

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.
