Floorball from IFF

Okey it is a ten minute video. And the english is broken. But I think this video sends a very good message.

Since we need to promote the sport a little bit further...
Maybe a T-shirt? To make people wonder.

I might print this one...

You better start em' young, right

This is so far the youngest FloorBall Player in Tomah.
He did not score but he did pass to one goal.
Carl-Oskar Wilcox-Borg, not even 4 yet.
And he will not even be 15 as Floorball is played on the Olympic agenda

About the BIG fall tournament in WI

As some of you have heard it was rumors before that we might play in a Floorball Hockey tournament involving a NHL Hockey team..
This has now been cancelled. With this words..
Unfortunately, we’re going to have to relook at the doing the tournament at a later date. We didn’t get the upper management support that we were hoping for so we’ll take a look at it again for next year.
Thanks for your support!
My own contact adds...
So if we want to do something we are on our own. So maybe something in the early fall a Midwest round robin type of thing four teams and everyone plays everyone? Teams from Minneapolis, St. Paul, Tomah WI and maybe the St. Paul Johnson team?
Float that idea out to your folks and see what you get back from them, As far as willingness.
It could be 5 on 5 small nets? Let me know what you think.
Reply to all to open up the discussion a little
This is my reply on behalf of us.
I will be in Georgia and maybe Florida roughly August and parts of September. So I will be gone like 7 weeks straight.
I do not think our team will fall together completely as I am gone but....I do not know.
Anyway if this is done a little bit later like in Oct or Nov this fall I think we might be able to bring a team from Sparta WI too.

I am fine with 5 on 5 small goals. I do insists on indoors and if possible boards if there is some somewhere.
I think each game should have two referees.

Lets call it the US Midwest Championship of FloorBall 2010.

Maybe we can have an open tournament at a later date as well?

What about Australia?

Yes, they call football soccer in Australia, but otherwise they only talk about FloorBall. I guess why?

Wow again

Thank You guys.

And with 7 Swedish hockey players in the first round of this springs NHL draft I am 100% certain that FloorBall does not hurt a Hockey player.
It creates a Hockeyplayer!
In Sweden Floorball is played more often than Basketball in the schoolsystem.

Here is a vid as Pixbo i.e. one of the best Floorball clubs in Sweden as they give one of the top notch Hockey clubs in Gotenburg, Sweden a hockey lesson.
Yes Ulf Dahlen plays for the Hockey team Frölunda Indians...

But I had to leave town - TOMAH - on a short notice!

So Open FloorBall Hockey at Miller this Tuesday July 7th between 6-8 has to be cancelled!

I am scheduled to be back in town again Thursday so we should be able to play more FloorBall Hockey Thursday July 9th as normal.

The size of FloorBall

Can most likely be measured in several ways.

But as I find small children books from Sweden that is aimed for the 3-4 year olds and the story is only about FloorBall Hockey....
I think you can grasp what kind of influence the new modern sport have on its environment....

4th of July Parade Tomah

Or How to advertise the sport of FloorBall to a larger audience!

Everyone that would like to join Us for the Tomah Parade at 4th of July is welcome.
We meet at 9.00 AM Sat the 4th somewhere in the corner of Benton St and Butts Ave.
Please wear patriotic clothes. Our unit number is 74!
The theme for the parade is "Volunteers - our heritage and our hope".

The parade starts at 10.00 AM!

I will provide Floorball Sticks and balls and we will play our way through the parade by walking - so please aim for shorts, tennis shoes and a patriotic T-Shirt.

I also have a limited number of patriotic hats and I might tape a few American flags to the end of maybe a few of the sticks used.

I think we will be only three participants for this activity. But if you will you want to participate please let me know so I can bring a few more sticks and balls.

For Sale

This is the Salming Varsity 96cm, the stick I play with myself right now. It is a very good intermediate stick. I bought a few of these and I have 5 lefty and 4 righty here in stock.
If you want to be able to practice at home with your own stick I offer this one to you at 40 USD a piece and I will include a ball. I think this is a very good buy.
Please let me know if you are interested.

This is by the way how to get the right hook. But be careful so you do not destroy your hook and please - maximum hook is 30 millimeters at highest point as the stick is measured laying flat on the ground.

One more thing I can translate that vid too if you want me to but I do think the footage speaks for itself.

4th of July

As I have mentioned a few of us might "play" Floorball in the parade, 4th of July in Tomah.
My instructions for the parade is supposed to be delivered by mail. Right now it seems like the US Post Office is not delivering our mail - since they do not like the location of our mailbox. Hopefully I will be able to sort this out in someway by tomorrow - if so further information upon the parade will be posted here a.s.a.p.

More on Nordy

We had a few more nice shots from the day last week as Nordy made his debut as a FloorBall Hockey player.
Yes, Nordy is the official mascot of the Wild!

Sparta WI

We have had the first informal presentation about FloorBall in Sparta, WI.
It feels like the party in question do understand the importance of the sport and its future presence in an educational environment.

Updates on this subject to follow...

Research suggest that eye-injuries are more common in Floorball as compared to Tennis, but less common as compared to Squash (similar to Racquetball).
To minimize this risk of injury Floorballcentral recommend: Use certified protective eye-wear (mandated in many European areas for the youth). Do not lay down on the court. Follow the rules strict on stick height.

Also if you get addicted to this sport - do not blame us!
